Due to its recent history, Germany had been anxious to portray itself as a strong supporter of Israel. But not any longer. The German government has joined the chorus of condemnatory and accusatory voices against Israel. It began with Germany’s support of a fictitious two-state solution and an inaccurate portrayal of the Gaza tragedy; and has now reached its climax in Chancellor Merz’s controversial announcement that Germany would no longer export military equipment to Israel that could be used in Gaza. What does the Bible say about Israel and all those nations which are ganging up against it?
