After Jacob obtained the birthright blessing through deception and was forced to flee from his brother Esau, his journey led him to Haran, to his uncle Laban. There, he worked for his future wife, Rachel, for seven years. However, Jacob also repeatedly experienced what it was like to be deceived, as his uncle Laban had also repeatedly betrayed him. Nevertheless, God was by Jacob’s side and blessed him, as he had promised.
