Everything we go through now is training. The hard things, the tedious things, the things we don’t understand in the moment are for our learning. We may not always see why we experience what we do, but we can trust that God is preparing us for a purpose far greater than we realize. We are not only being raised up as children of God, we are being trained as kings and priests, to serve under Jesus Christ when He returns. The Feast of Tabernacles pictures that future time, when the nations will finally be ready and willing to learn the truth, and we will be the ones teaching them, drawing on the very experiences, sufferings, and lessons we are living through right now. We don’t have to wait until then to see the value of our training. Every trial we face today is already shaping us into the kind of teacher who can help others come to salvation, with the same understanding and empathy Christ Himself gained through what He suffered.
