Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“’Measles Outbreak’–Blaming the Unvaccinated?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

The Press and Newscasts are making a meal of the story of “measles outbreak” in the USA. Scientists and lawyers argue that parents who don’t vaccinate their children should go to jail; that they always commit a tort; and that they are making a negligent, unreasonable and reckless decision under the law. President Obama stated that there is no reason to not vaccinate, while Senator Rand Paul wants to give parents the freedom to decide. What are the facts? Are vaccines harmless? Are they always effective? Why do properly vaccinated persons contract measles? Should we accept the position of those who oppose vaccination for religious or medical grounds? What are some of the reasons, and who are among those who decide against vaccination?

“Neu! Erfolgreiche Gebete–Den Vater im Himmel Heiligen!” is the title of this week’s German sermon. It begins a series on successful prayers based on the outline in Matthew. This first part addresses the injunction to pray to God the Father in heaven, whose name is to be hallowed. Title of the German sermon in English: “Successful Prayers–Hallow the Father in Heaven!”

“The Shield of Faith,” last Sabbath’s sermon by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Ephesians 6:16 commands us to take the shield of faith, as an important part of the armor of God, which will enable us to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. How does the Bible describe this shield, and what is meant with the fiery darts of the wicked one? Further, what kind of faith is necessary? Is true faith just a defensive “weapon,” or is more required?

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“Heavens and Earth…” a new booklet written by Norbert Link, has entered an initial review period. Watch for the publishing of this intriguing presentation this spring.

“Dealing With Invisible Voices!” is the title of a new StandingWatch Program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

According to the Independent, a British paper, “up to one in 25 people hears voices regularly,” and “up to 40 per cent of the population will hear voices at some point in their lives.” While traditional psychiatry tries to silence those voices through strong medication, resulting in dangerous side-effects, others advocate a dialogue with those voices to calm them down.  What about these two different approaches? History includes many examples of people who claim that they heard voices and had visions, but can it really be true? If there are such voices, what is their origin? And what should people do who hear them? We are offering you our free booklet, “Angels, Demons and the Spirit World.”

“Die Kunst des Gebets,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. Title in English: “The Art of Prayer.”

“The Time of Salvation,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Is there a 7,000 year plan for mankind’s salvation which corresponds to the creation week described in Genesis, or is there more? Would an exact understanding of all the historical events described in the Bible give one the key to salvation? What should Christians be doing to attain the salvation God is offering?

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Our annual Church Conference will be conducted in San Diego, California, beginning March 20, and continuing through March 24, 2015.

A new Member Letter to our German brethren has been sent. In it, Mr. Link reminds everyone of the approaching Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread and includes information about the Feast of Tabernacles, which will be observed in Templin, Germany. In addition, two new German booklets dealing with the Sabbath and the Holy Days have been translated and are offered in this letter.

“The Pope Has No Answer!” is the title of a new StandingWatch Program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

During his travel to the Philippines, Pope Francis made some startling and unsettling comments. He warned Catholics not to breed like rabbits; admitted that he has no answer to the question of a little girl why children suffer; and said in response to the terrorist attack in France that one cannot make fun of faith without expecting a punch, and that every religion has its dignity. Why are all these comments deeply disturbing? We are offering our free booklet, “Human Suffering–Why… and How Much Longer?”

“Der Papst Hat Keine Antwort!” is the title of the German language AufPostenStehen program covering the same topic as above.

“Neu! Die Fehlenden Jahre im Wirken Christi,” is the new German sermon. It addresses the false concept of an end-time “7-year-contract” and discusses Christ’s public ministry for the remaining 3 1/2 years after His return. Title in English: “The Missing Years in Christ’s Ministry.”

“The Helper,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Eric Rank, is now posted. Here is a summary:

In the days leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He told His disciples that a Helper would be sent after He left them. What is the Helper that Jesus talked about? How can It work in your life?

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

A new member letter has been written by Rene Messier in which he reminds us of our individual and collective responsibilities to faithfully continue in the Work of God. This was mailed out on Friday morning.

“Neu! Die Frau auf dem Tier in Offenbarung 17,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. Title in English: “New! The Woman on the Beast in Revelation 17.”

“Coming–Nuclear War Between Russia and Europe?” is the title of a new StandingWatch program present by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Will the Russian-Ukrainian crisis lead to nuclear war? Or will Europe’s and especially France’s policy of appeasement towards Russia continue? What does the Bible say? Our free booklet, “Biblical Prophecy—From Now Until Forever” gives you the answer.

“Lasset Uns Menschen Machen…” is the title of a new AufPostenStehen program which features  our newly printed German booklet, “God Is A Family.”  The title in English: “Let Us Make Man in Our Image…”

“Radical Islam, Terrorism and the Bible,” is the title of another new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

A movement in Germany has mainstream politicians up in arms. Weekly “PEGIDA” demonstrations in Dresden and other cities against “Islamization” are opposed by left-liberal groups, Muslims, Christian churches and others, even though their criticism may only contribute to the growing popularity of the movement. The most recent terrorist attacks in France have been interpreted quite differently, depending on who has reported them. Does the Koran command, allow or prohibit the murder of those who “insult’ Mohammed? What does the Bible have to say about Europe’s future role regarding Muslim countries and terrorism in general? We are offering two free booklets, “Biblical Prophecy-From Now Until Forever” and “When and How Will Christ Return?”

“The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 2,” the sermon from last Sabbath, is now posted. Here is a summary:

The last six of the Ten Commandments tell us how we are to love our neighbor. In this sermon, we will see how the Prophets describe godly love towards our fellow man, emphasizing the need to honor our parents, to avoid and shun hate and murder, as well as adultery and fornication, stealing, lying and covetousness. Many reject God’s law and as a consequence, they love the evil, while hating the good, and when they are told what they are doing, they do not want to listen. But God knows and sees their ways, and He will not be silent forever. God chastises whom He loves.

Please note that we are requesting anyone who is interested in attending the 2015 Feast of Tabernacles with us in the USA or in Germany to contact us with your request.

“Better Off Now?” is the title of the sermon presented by Kalon Mitchell last Sabbath. Here is a summary:

When we become baptized and a member of the Church, how does our life change? Does it change for the better or worse? A lot depends on our attitude and how we look at life. Are we better off now that we have become members of the Body of Christ?

“No Escape from Death,” is the title of the sermonette presented by Norbert Link this past Sabbath. Here is a summary:

We do not know when we will die, but we do know that we will die. Death is inescapable, and so we need to be prepared. How will we die? Will our day of death be better than our day of birth? Will we die the death of a righteous person? Will we be blessed in death? Will death have lost its sting for us? Will the crown of life await us?

“Was ist das Malzeichen des Tieres?” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is: “What is the Mark of the Beast?”

Global Trailer 24 – “Baptism – A Requirement for Salvation,” has been presented by Pastor Brian Gale. Here is a summary:

We have presented in this booklet the biblical proof that water baptism through immersion is a necessary requirement for salvation. Without it, there is no promise in the Bible of receiving God’s Holy Spirit, and without God’s Spirit dwelling in us, we are not true Christians, and God will not grant us His gift of everlasting life in His Kingdom.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Final agreement with the Hilton Garden Inn has been reached for observing the Feast of Tabernacles in Pismo Beach, California, for 2015! We will announce steps for making reservations, shortly–this will also be posted on our website. In addition, for both our US and Templin, Germany, locations, only very modest price changes have been added since last year.

A new AufPostenStehen clip has been produced by Johanna Link. This is presented in German by Mike Link.

“New Year’s Celebrations in Honor of Pagan Gods?,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Pagans observed New Year’s on January 1 to honor their god Janus and the deified Julius Caesar. Christianity adopted the pagan celebrations in honor of Christ and “Saint Sylvester.” Many pagan rites and superstitions are clearly present in today’s observances. And January 1 has been reserved historically for persecutions of Jews and Sabbath-keeping Christians. So, should we keep New Year’s Day?

“666—Die Zahl des Tieres in der Offenbarung,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is: “666—The Number of the Beast in Revelation.”

A new SW Talking Points program based on our booklet, “The Gospel of the Kingdom of God,” has been presented by Pastor Rene Messier. Here is a summary:

God wants His church to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God in all the world as a witness. But what is the Kingdom of God? Why is it so important that we understand the truth in this matter? What is the Gospel? When you hear the word Gospel, what comes to mind? Do you think of the gospel of grace? Do you think about the four gospel writers—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John? Do you think of the gospel about the person of Jesus Christ?

“The Joy of Sin,” the sermon given last Sabbath by Robb Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

“We are inundated with the concept that Christmas is the most joyful of all seasons. While many grasp to find some sort of joy, it is at most just a passing feeling. Real and lasting joy can only be understood and experienced while God is involved in our lives.”

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

On December 21, 2014, the NEWLY DESIGNED WEBSITE for the Church of the Eternal God and its affiliates became operational! This represents a major effort on the part of our volunteer technical team–led by Eric Rank. Please take the time to view and become familiar with our new format. We will continue to refine and build this site as we seek to effectively fulfill the commission given to us by Jesus Christ (https://www.eternalgod.org/).

On Friday evening, December 19, 2014, longtime member, Gilbert DeVaux (77), died. Gilbert lived in Jefferson, Oregon, and attended with brethren in Woodburn, Oregon. His faithful commitment to God’s calling remains an inspiring example to all of us.

“Pope Francis’ Fight with the Vatican,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link, here is a summary:

It has been almost a recent routine by the Vatican to ignore, dispute or “clarify” something that Pope Francis has (allegedly) said. This includes statements about communism, homosexuality, divorce and remarriage, and whether animals go to heaven when they die. Pope Francis is also involving himself more and more in political affairs, such as the relationship between the USA and Cuba. His popularity is enormous, especially in Europe, due to his charming appearance. His most recent strong attack against the Curia has been described as “without historic precedent” and “one last warning before a direct confrontation.” A spokesman for the Vatican has also referred to him as a “prophet.” What can we expect to occur in the future? We offer two free booklets, “Do We Have an Immortal Soul?” and “Man’s Holidays or God’s Holy Days?”

“Leben wir in der Endzeit?,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. It is basically covering what we wrote in our Q&A on the terms “end time,” “last days,” etc., with special emphasis on the concept of a king of the south. Title in English: “Are We Living in the End Time?”

“Papst Franziskus im Kampf mit dem Vatikan,”  is the German version of the SW program described above, and it is also available on www.aufpostenstehen.de.

A new StandingWatch Talking Points program has been posted. In this presentation, Pastor Rene Messier reviews highlights from our booklet, “Old Testament Laws–Still Valid Today?”

“The Inner Man,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Christians are undergoing a profound change! It involves the renewing of how we think and behave, and it will lead to a transformation from mortal, fleshly existence into that of immortal, spirit life in the Family of God!

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“The Christmas Myth-Exposed?,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Both former Pope Benedict XVI and former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, have questioned the accuracy of the Christmas “myth”-in particular the alleged time of Christ’s birth and the way in which the Nativity scene is commonly depicted. They claim that there were no animals present and that the wise men were not identified as three. There are of course many more Christmas assumptions and ideas which do not find support in the Bible. In this program, we show you what the Bible really says about Christmas and its customs, and we offer you a free reprint article about the wise men or “magi,” and our free booklet, “Don’t Keep Christmas.”

“Der Mythos des Weihnachtsfestes—Entlarvt?,” is the title of the German language program, which discusses the same topic as the SW mentioned above.

“Global Trailer–Angels, Demons and the Spirit World,” presented by Pastor Brian Gale, is now available for viewing.

“Die Propheten Hängen an der Liebe, Teil 2,” is the German sermon for this coming Sabbath. In English, the title is: “The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 2.”

“The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 1,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

According to the words of Jesus, all the Law and the Prophets hang on the two great commandments of love towards God and love towards neighbor. In this sermon, we will show how the first four of the Ten Commandments are covered in the Prophets, emphasizing that God is our only God who prohibits the worship of idols and who enjoins us to hallow His name and His weekly and annual Sabbaths.

Plans are being finalized for next year’s Church Conference beginning on March 20, 2015, and concluding on March 25, 2015. Also, we are finalizing ministerial assignments for the Spring Holy Days.

A new member letter has been written by Pastor Brian Gale. In this letter, Mr. Gale focuses on dramatic and prophetically significant events occurring in Europe–with special emphasis on Britain’s growing alienation with the European Union.

“Germany–the Predestined Leader of Europe” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

More and more news reporters realize that Germany is the leader of Europe, and that nothing goes without Angela Merkel, the “world’s most powerful woman” and the German “Chancellor of Europe.” The New Yorker and the Telegraph published insightful articles about Germany’s superpower status and the fact that Britain is a lame duck. Reference is also made to a “reconstituted Holy Roman Empire governed from Berlin” with “charisma and sanctity [to be] bestowed [on it]… by Rome.” All of this is in fulfillment of biblical prophecy. We are offering three free booklets, “Germany in Prophecy,” “Europe in Prophecy” and “The Ten European Revivals of the Ancient Roman Empire.”

“Ist Zungenreden biblisch?,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. Title in English: “Is Speaking in Tongues Biblical?”

“Den Standort Wechseln?” (vom 30. November 2014), a German translation of this week’s Editorial by Norbert Link, has been sent to members and subscribers and was posted on the German website.

Four new printed German booklets have been received from the printer. They will be distributed this Sabbath in Church services and sent to our subscribers next week. We will also begin to advertise them in our AufPostenStehen programs.

“Past, Present, Future,” the sermon from last Sabbath by Michael Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

The Bible shows us how the past, present and future all work together.  Through past examples for our own admonition, we can learn from them in our present lives by obeying God, so we can be counted worthy to make it in the future.
